When we heard there was going to be a 5k mud run at Two Rivers Park here in little rock we were excited! We had never done a mud run before. So we signed up. The Saturday of the mud run dawned very cold! We bundled up and headed out to the park (despite the many times we said that morning-"are we sure we want to do this"). It was still cold when we got there. We met up with many of Jon's buddies who were also doing the run. When it looked like we were getting close to the time we would be starting we stripped down to our "outfits". Finally it came time to do the introduction and kick off. It was also starting to warm up about then. They went through the "rules and regs", did a "RESPECT" skit, and such. Then finally it was time to be off and running! We didn't even cheat and cut corners, we did the whole thing. Around the first corner Jon ditched me to use the John, and caught back up to me a few minutes later. By that time I was getting warm and the sweater came off. We went through the first small mud pit and Jonny made sure to splash me well. Then more running, then the hay bales. And before we knew it we were at the mud pit. First step in and I was stuck! I told Jonny to help me, and he helped me to get even muddier! The whole way through the pit was pulling each other out, then pushing each other in. And of course he did it more to me. But we both ended up amazingly dirty! Great times, and great memories!
Caked in mud, notice the difference of before and after!
