So I was told that time out for women was something that would be amazing, and as I had never been I decided to give it a try. It was out in Orlando which is about a 7 hour drive. So Me, Melissa, Devonne, and her mother piled into the van and headed out Thursday morning. It was a long, but not so bad a drive. As they are my counselors we have gotten to know each other quite well! Once there we checked into our very nice resort condo, with 3 floors. First floor was the garage and one room, second floor was kitchen and living room and top was 2 bedrooms.
Then our first adventure for the evening, we tried to decide what to eat. We finally decided on a Thai restaurant. Well when we got "there" there was no Thai restaurant, tons of other ones though. We ask a valet if he knew of one, and he said to try the new one that opened just down the street.....he must have been smoking something because it was a Brazilian steak house and was not yet open! So we ended up at a Italian place with super amazing pizza. Then on to Walmart to pick up breakfast food, and a new swimsuit for me (I found out there was a hot tub). Funny story with the hot tub. We looked in information book and it stated the hot tub was open till midnight. As it was 10:40ish we thought we had plenty of time. When we got down there we were informed "10 minutes left". We asked why since we were informed midnight, and were told, "that changed in December, would you mind updating it for us?" Really? Oh well.
Friday morning was not terribly early. We took our time, got out the door and headed to the Orlando temple! It was wonderful to go through a whole session again. Then we hit up beehive clothing, then the bookstore where we ran into Jannelle and Dana (also from our ward). Oh, we also got Thai food for lunch....food was awesome, service was terrible. It began pouring as we left the bookstore and then we got lost heading back to the condo. We arrived barely before the other 3 arrived. We all hurried to change and get to the giant convention center. Friday night was great with Sherry Dew starting out, Hillary weeks singing, a talk on Forgiveness by Virginia Peirce. All good. Then it was back to the condo and finally a chance to hit the hot tub. I was full of energy from sitting all day and some older gentlemen were almost convinced I was drunk, despite my councilor and one of my young women promising I was not ;)
